Have you been diagnosed with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment)?
Are you worried about losing memory and having difficulty finding words?
Is someone close to you experiencing the above?
Then you have come to the right place.
Introduction
MCI Stands for Mild Cognitive Impairment. It is the beginning of brain degeneration and often leads to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. It is a very long and slow process and most people don’t even know that it is happening. They start experiencing annoying incidents such as forgetting to turn off lights or lock the door, being unable to remember the day of the week, and many other things. Another common symptom is having difficulty finding words, making conversations frustrating.
While it is a very concerning and, for some, frightening condition, there are many things which could be done to cope with MCI and even fend it off.
The purpose of this blog is to share my experience with fighting MCI and the knowledge I have gathered along the way, so that you or your loved ones may give themselves a fighting chance to live with MCI, or even overcome this frightening diagnosis.
I am also asking that people will write in to share their experiences – I hope to learn from your experiences just as much as I hope you can learn from mine.

Probably had it all my life and did not know it. I am 59 years old now and daily life is a constant struggle after bariatric bypass surgery. So, I now need the help more than ever. Have self-diagnosed the impairment. Nearest specialist 96 miles away. This self-realization came to me a mere hour ago.

Welcome to the website. I am sorry to hear your story. Obviously you need some professional help. You could try some of the strategies described here yourself, but I believe you need to get thorough physical checkups to make sure that you don’t have conditions affecting your memory. Good luck.
