Vitamins

This posting has been revised to accommodate its contents in a more organized manner.

Many vitamins are vital for our overall health. Also, some are known to help improve brain health including mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The following list explains how each vitamin could affect brain health. It should be noted that while some vitamins are essential, vitamins in a pill form is not the same as what you can get from natural food. Pharmaceutical companies are able to create vitamins but it is not possible to completely emulate the range of vitamins that come form natural foods. This is because natural foods have an immeasurable number of trace components which is impossible to duplicate. Some of these trace ingredients do contribute to the overall effectiveness of foods.

For that reason, personally, I try to get essential vitamins and minerals through my diet as much as possible, although it is very difficult to meet daily requirements through diet alone. Therefore, I regularly take vitamin B12, vitamin D3, omega 3 as well as magnesium. I could probably take more than this, but I don’t like the idea of loading myself up with pills. (That’s just my preference – everyone is different!)

The subject of vitamins covers a vast alley of subjects, but the purpose of this blog is not to explain everything about vitamins. Instead, I have covered only the following items because they are said to be directly or indirectly related to brain health.
